Guy Love

Here is a hilarious music video "Guy Love" from my current favorite show Scrubs. It's a sneak peak of the upcoming musical episode (it's time they do a musical episode! Ally did one, Buffy did one, and even Angel got a dance ep!) I was choking on water when I heard JD sing to Turk "You are the only man who has ever been inside of me!" and Turk immediately said "Whoa whoa, I just took out his appendix!" LOL, omg I play like 5 times already and I still laughing with tears~ :p

Scrubs returns tonight!!!! Don't miss it!!

P.S. I downloaded and convert the video and now it's on my ipod!! expect me to sing to that tune in the next week or so~ hehe

update: The music video is now a free download on iTunes Store! Go download it while it last!

It's a Smurf World After all...

According to this, Smurfs movie will be made, not one movie, but a trilogy!! Damn that's exciting! Not to mention they are not the 2D cartoon we remembered but CGI 3D! That's gonna be so cute!! It will be so awesome to have a bird-eye view of the 3D Smurfs village too!!! I think when I was really really little, I believe they existed~ hehe~ anyway, John Lithgow will be a great villain choice to play nefarious Gargamel, I always enjoyed his crazy over-the-top performance in Third Rock From the Sun and he was great in Shrek. The article mentioned the style of the movie will be like Lord of the Rings meet Shrek....and after that I can't stop thinking about Papa Smurf as Gandalf!!! lol

In a related news, rest assured that I will visit the Smurfs Village in MoCCA!

I know where he's hiding!

My friend was showing me pictures from his trip, and one of them have some pretty flowers in it. So this crazy geek in me somehow noticed something weird from the picture! I rotated around the pictures, zoom in and crop the image out. And here it is! A bug eyes alien crossing his white arms, with fat tummy and blue shoes!!! An alien is hiding in the middle of the flower!!
:p

iMac Observed

1) it's HUGE in my tiny room. It's tall too! I need a taller chair, cos the isight camera can like see part of my head only!

2) Unwrapping was a joy. Packaging was awesome, everything was so elegantly wrapped. And Apple always included batteries(not the cheap one) for anything that require battery - in this case, the bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

3) No problems so far. There's no dead pixel, no crack on the exterior, no humming noise, no fans noise, no sleep issue, no wake issue, no wireless not connecting from wake, no wireless shortages. I am glad!

4) The screen is bright!! it's like I am staring at the sun! I swear I don't need any light anymore! (although tune it down to the lower level of brightness, it is tolerable, I don't have any complains)

5) The screen is larger than my TV in the living room! it's like HDTV, seriously even the DVD, I popped in Scrubs Season 4 in there and it looks pixelized!! (although that's a TV DVD, so it's not as good picture quality, but still!) I pop in X-Men 3 and the picture quality was alright, I guess to have crystal clear picture on such a big screen I need Blue Ray and HD-DVD, but let's not go there~

6) FAST. I didn't really have time to test anything yet, but every application is just one bounce on the dock and pop right up. Re-encoding video files - a 175+MB file that used to take more than an hour on my Powerbook is now under 20 mins. (and that's input and output through external HD via Firewire800, if it's on the internal HD it might be even faster.)

7) Front Row is awesome, any video files you put in your Movie folder would also show up in the interface, and it even remember your position and ask if you want to resume! Neat!

8) .Mac is overprice, but it is useful just by syncing across different macs. Within minutes of starting up my iMac, My Safari, iCal, Address Book, Mail are all identical to my Powerbook, from mail messages, address, bookmarks down to the setting!

9) Civ 4 run fast - granted I haven't got far and every nation is back in the stone age, but I can turn up all the detail graphics and it's awesome looking - I can even run full screen with the highest resolution 1900X1200!!

10) iChat AV - cute! easiest video chat ever!

11) Have been typing on the Powerbook keyboard for so long now, so having a new keyboard need time to get use to.

12) Why am I writing in outline format? cos I still have a lot to do! I could have done the easy way and use setup assistant to just copy all applications from my Powerbook, but since there is a huge different between two machines - PPC vs. Intel. I am taking the slow but safe route by installing the apps back manually - which means I have a lot of apps to install. In additons, many files are in my two external HD too, so I want to re-organized a bit better, do some move around. So yeah I am gonna be busy, that's why I am keeping this short and easy to save time.

(Un)Wrap Party

BTW, the name of my iMac 24" is Harry MacBeal~

P.S. I need a white desk!

Dancing Penguins

I went to see Happy Feet, to see the always lovely penguins. But first, let's talk about the teaser for the next Harry Potter movie - Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix! Looks like for the first time the movie is showing you the more "modern" part of London! In the past few films it was restrict to the suburbs or the old towns, you would never see a modern skyscraper even though the entire series does set at a parallel universe in the modern time. I am excited to see Harry fly through modern London! There's no scenes with the D.A., but we got to see another awesome British actress - Helena Bonham Carter joining the series. I loved her in Big Fish!!!!!! This time she's playing the role of the villainous Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange...I can't wait! she's gonna be so awesome! The movie looks even darker and scarier than the Globet of Fire, whoever seeing the movie with me next year probably have to hold my hand during intense scenes! Anyhow, I am very satisfy with the teaser, hoepfully a longer trailer will be out soon!

On to the main attraction Happy Feet! Who doesn't love penguins? I don't have much expectation of the movie as long as they show me cutie little penguin babies. I actually expect them to screw it up with a silly story about dancing penguins and that is it. At first, I really thought it sucks when Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman's penguins singing all these pop songs in the beginning.....I was kinda bored and can't shake the idea of where the heck did the music come from?? Once little Mumble come into the world it got better, he has that same scary blue eyes just like Elijah Wood. And when Robin Williams' penguin who up, it's where the party started!!! He is so good in voice over cartoon that it should be his day job!! just give up acting, give up stand-up, be full time doing voiceover!! The film goes from a simple acceptance of someone different kinda story to something much deeper - human overfishing destroying environment kinda story. It's a noble attempt to address big issue like that in an animation, but the resolution come too quickly and doesn't make much sense, like within 5 minutes of screen time without much explanation that human somehow understand there is a problem of overfishing in the ocean just because a lot of penguins are dancing? I do like it when animation is deeper than just kid's movie, but they have to do it well too, here it just seems to be an afterthought to address overfishing.
Other than that, I can't complain, cos it's a movie about those cute little penguins!

Something wicked this way come

There's a crack behind the radiator in my kitchen and something wicked this way come.
I got home at around 1am and when the door swing opened, there's only one living thing in the apartment and that wasn't my roommate!
When I turn on the light I saw this furry thing with a tail run straight for the radiator. I needed a minute to realize what the heck did I saw, and I just stand there frozen. Until I realize it is what it is, and I took 2 steps back thinking maybe I should go back out and take the train to my parents and live there for a while. As I stood there pondering my next move, I start to think how ironic that I was wearing a mickey mouse t-shirt, and he's giving me a finger! I was like, f*** you too, stop inviting your relatives! He got me kinda angry so I conjured up some courage and step into the kitchen, and run really fast across the entire apartment turn on every single light there is. I was gonna start a fire too, I heard those little things are afraid of light and burning fire even more so, but then I realize I am afraid of fire too~ I hide myself behind the refrigerator, staring at the radiator by the window. No movement, nothing! I made some noise, still nothing! I got a little braver and start calling my cellphone trying to find someone to rescue me. My roommate was somewhere clubbing but from my screaming panicking voice I am sure he got my message and will get back home soon. Then I called my brother - which as expected, a useless conversation. There's more than an hour before my roommate would be home, so what should I do?

Eventually I locked myself in my room, found a couple heavy boxes blocking the gaps between the door and the floor. Just basically barricaded myself in my room against that thing out there. That was a long hour! I was running around inside my room, all crazy, thinking about if the thing would eat cables - and make all my gadgets all nervous too. Then I was thinking about what kind of spell I can used to create a force-field. Then I think about Amy the rat from Buffy. Maybe she's here to teach me magic! All at the same time complaining to my friends online. Finally my roommate's home, and I was talking to him through the door. He checked and found out about the crack behind the radiator, and told me the thing is gone. He blocked the crack for now, so hopefully nothing can get in again. But I was all shaken up, I still have two defense line up behind my door, and I had a dream of a huge hole on my bathroom floor behind the sink that you can look down all the way downstairs and see the Rat family there. They have names like Mickey, Minnie, Pikachu, and yet they look nothing like what they are suppose to be! They do all kind of annoying things too! like they sing Karaoke in a language that I don't understand and playing drums!

I hope he won't return!

Names

I am holding a contest to name my iMac. Here are the rules:

1) It need to have the product name in it, which means Mac got to be in there somewhere!
2) Ideally it should fit nicely into my existing naming schemes: Powerbook:Harry Power, ipod: Harry Podder, walkman phone: Harry Walker. But I realize how difficult it is, so it's not required but highly desired!

so any suggestions?

seriously I need some help! some feedback! I have been thinking for a while and can't think of a name for my iMac!

Where in the world is my iMac?

Shipping update: Apparently my iMac travel from Shanghai to Alaska from 10:42am to 12:18pm of the same day. I know there's time zones and all those things involved, but that's just incredible! so now it's leaving Alaska, still in the same day at 3:13pm. It's been a few hours and it could be anywhere from the West coast of Canada to the East coast of United States for all i know! I am constantly amazed by the speed of Apple shipping product to the customers! We take at least 3 days to get a book from one campus to another!

Anyway, keep up the good work FedEx and Apple!!!
I am expecting you, my iMac!

Outrageous price

After last week's concert it's obvious that I would want to go to more concerts. And with Last.fm's awesome Event page, I would know all about the concerts of my favorite singers. So I take a look at the page and found quite a few of my favorites are on tour in the next few months: Dashboard Confessional, Damien Rice, Rufus Wainwright, John Mayer, and Snow Patrol. Out of all of them, Damien is probably my favorite of the favorites. So I am all excited and want to go to his concert in December. There's a show on the 12th and 13th in Beacon Theater. I head over to the theater's page and want to get the ticket....the first price i saw is $345!?!?! WTF?? the concert I saw last week was $30!! this is like 100 times more!!! Even the cheapest at the end of the theater is $100! I really really like Damien's music but I ain't paying that much!!! I head over to the ticket sites of the other singers i mentioned above, none of them cost more than 70! I dunno why the heck Damien's is so expensive!

So yeah, Damien is out, but all the other singers I mentioned above, if any of my friends are interested to going! ~wink wink~ please let me know! I want to go to another concert! :)

Why are you blue people follow me to my favorite show?

As I mentioned before, Scrubs will be back much earlier than previously thought. Mark your calendar people! New season premiere on Thursday, November 30th at 9pm!

Tiny detail starts to pop up about this season, the creepy Blue Man Group will appear on Scrubs' premiere. I saw their show 2 months ago and still terrified by the TP act they did~ (I was drowning in large quantity of toilet paper!) I wonder what wacky act they will do with the even more wackier JD and the rest of the cast!

Harry Returns (along with L.V.)

Here's the red hot new first poster from the highly anticipated Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix!!! Lord Voldemort pointing his wand at you with the tagline "You will lose everything!" How creepy!

Bonus: picture of the D.A.! (For you Muggles out there it stands for Dumbledore's Army!) Looks like an awesome gang! Can't wait to see them battle!

Why are birds that can't fly so darn cute?

This is so adorable! Tiny birds that can't fly are just so cute! Penguins, Kiwi, Dodo~ I can't wait to see Happy Feet!!! and I hope they make a full length feature for Kiwi too!!!

Excitment

I came home the first thing I did was to check the mailbox cos I have the feeling that what I was waiting for is here. And it did indeed, my new credit card with 15 months 0% APR - the one thing i need to get what i really really want! I read the details and found that the 0% APR starts now and ends in February 2008 - the same month that the Applecare for my Powerbook expired! It's a sign! (I always consider coincidence are signs! in this case any last doubt about this big purchase are all gone after I saw this coincidence!) So I immediately activate my card and head over to the Applestore site and order my iMac!!!! The whole time I was so excited that I was trembling!! When I hit the final order button, I was more nervous than going on a job interview or a date with some guy! The final page told me that it will be shipping between the 16th - 20th and will deliver in between 20th-28th! Apple's shipping estimate is conservative and will usually surprise us, so the earliest I can get my machine could just be next week!! I am waiting to be surprised!! :)

Apple in the air

Between the MagSafe Airline adaptor to power up their laptops and today's news of ipod integration to in-flight seat, looks like Apple is now set their sight to the sky after taking over your pocket, your home, and your car. Despite for the awesome battery life of the ipod, it's still no match for a cross Pacific flight that last about 19 hours! To have integrated connector cable to charge my ipod is most-welcome, and the bonus of viewing my video content on the seat back displays is unexpected but even better! I can load up my ipod with TV shows I like and don't have to worry about running out of battery and can view it in a bigger screen!! No more fear of getting bored on a plane! That's awesome! Other airlines better join Apple's bandwagon fast!!

iConcert

I went to see Imogen Heap's concert in Webster Hall yesterday......it was raining like hell, so the wait outside around the block wasn't that fun, but once inside it's getting better. I never been inside Webster Hall before, so I was quite amazed how big the space is. There's two opening act - Levi Weaver and Kid Beyond. Levi sounds alright, I guess I listen to way too many solo male singer-songwriters, so you really need to be very special to impress me nowadays. But he does looks cute, and hey, an American lives in England, that just increase the attractive value~ hehe~ Kid Beyond is a human beatbox machine! Seriously awesome!! I was never really impress by beatbox performance, but he is so good at it that I never heard something like that before.
As for the main event - Imogen Heap is just awesome, her music is kinda electronica, and to see her perform live is a very fun and yet confusing sight, because there's all these machines that make all kinda of sound. There's her plastic see-through piano with lots of machines attached to it, and two other keyboard and some other machine that repeat her vocal, and I think there's a powerbook somewhere as well. So there she is singing and then the next second she'll be operating a submarine! She's really busy with all the buttons and it was kinda distracting to me - as well as to her, she press the wrong buttons when she start a few songs. Anyway, her voice is just so so so good, the songs with bare minimum instruments such as just the sound of a piano - those are the best one that really showcase her voice. That's why the piano version of Let Go is my favorite of the night. The moment I said it come close too. I love her songs so it was a very good night just to see her, despite some minor things such as I can barely hear her voice when she talks and there were these crazy fans who scream in the middle of the song.

Scary Bear part II

Remember a while ago I found the scary bear? Well, it has a cousin now! It's called Fat Bear, but what I can assume is just a creepy tiny man in a bear suit!!

Sucker@! die before you launch!

HAHAHA, look at that sucker ipod imitator Zune - installation error screen already and it's not even officially launch yet! (and what an interesting choice of background pictures too! looks like those girls are in PAIN because they are using Zune!! LOL) Anyhow, what can you expect from Microsoft besides error screen! it would be lucky if the user don't get the blue screen of dead!

Stranger Than Fiction

I watched Stranger Than Fiction today and it is by far the film that I love the most this year! If you like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind you will like this. If you like Dustin Hoffman's character in I Heart Huckabees, you will like this. Will Ferrell in this film make you laugh, but not being naked running around or jump into a swimming pool, but being a simple, average man that has an extraordinary event happened to him. Emma Thompson is awesome in this movie, so are Maggie Gyllenhaal and Queen Latifah. It's a unique story that you just have to see it. The best film to compare is still Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, both films has that one tag of magical element that is not too believable in real life and yet the film still works very well. I was totally drawn into the movie, keep on worrying what will happen next to Harold Crick!

Go see it people! It's definitely going to my all-time favorite list!

P.S. I want Harold's watch!!!!

P.S. I learn the line "Little did he know" from this movie!

P.S. I want a narrator with a better vocabulary too!

My new shopping place in Soho

UNIQLO's global flagship store just opened this weekend in Soho, it's pretty obvious that I won't miss the chance to check out this Japanese fashion store! First Impression: it's HUGE! it's bigger than all of the stores in Soho, bigger than Adidas, bigger than Bloomingdales, bigger than Bestbuy, and even Apple store. It's 3 floors all together with high ceilings! I was only able to explore 2 floors, haven't even get to the basement - maybe next time. As for the clothes - they are priced comparable to H&M or Gap, but the quality seems to be better. They are not too funky as I first thought it would, but given the right mix and match, you can still create some funky Japanese style~ Since it's the opening weekend, there's way too many people to really go through the clothes. I managed to get a really soft and light scarf, while my friend REALLY shopped~ It's funny since I was the one asked to go to the store and he end up getting a lot more than I do~

Soho continue to be my favorite shopping 'hood, the addition of UNIQLO just strengthen the area as my shopping mecca!

Whedon alum magnet

I watched the new ep of "How I met your mother", to my surprise more familiar face show up from the Buffy/Angel, Firefly/Serenity universes that Joss Whedon created! I guess because of Alyson Hannigan (Williow) is on the show, she pull some strings and keep on getting her old pals on the set. This show truly become a Whedon alum magnet:

Last season Alexis Denisof (Wesley) showed up as Sandy the anchorman, then Amy Acker (Fred) show up as Barney's one night stand who know how to do the rain dance.
Then this new ep has Tom Lenk (Andrew) guest star as coffee shop geeky employee, and crazy eyes girl is played by Morena Baccarin (Inara from Firefly/Serenity).

I expect we will see Xander, Spike, Buffy soon!!

This ep also marked the first time the show airs after Neil Patrick Harris come out on People magazine last week. I read some comments about how not believable it is now to see NPH
playing the womanizer character Barney after knowing that the actor himself is gay. Seriously people! He's so convincing as the lovable jackass from the start! Is there anything that's different now? No! and to think his character is not as believable is like saying since we know Johnny Deep in real life is not a drunken gay pirate, that his character Jack Sparrow is so not convining and just didn't work! non sense!

conversation between two geeks

I saw a mention about this picture on Flickr, and I just have to show it here! It's adorable!

Yoda: light and small these iPods i thought were
Darth: well that's what the guy in the shop told me!
Yoda: believed him you did like Palpatine....!
Darth: oh give me a break - I was only a kid then! if you don't stop whining, you can use your force and carry this yourself!!

common sense is back

I am not obsessively political, but it still give me great pleasure to read the news after this awesome midterm election! Finally people have some common sense back and it's reflected in the vote!

Here is a good political joke about today's event for any Apple fans or apple users! laugh away people~

A run-on paragraph that makes me smile

Got a email from a person aboard, from his sarcastic crazy no punctuation no grammar half German half English run-on paragraph, I know that he'd think of me and might even come to the states before the summer. And I know that he still brings me smile and makes me happy just by the name that he called me by or the way he talks to me. :)

Bestbuy and Mac

As you all know I am in deep thinking about the iMac. I couldn't make a decision yet. After my late lunch today I went into Bestbuy around the corner from where I work like usual. They once again more around the shelves which they have been doing this past month, and I notice something different at their computer section.......they become one of the few test pilot sites that sell Mac computers again! The first thing that caught my eyes was the 24" beauty iMac right there! and then there's a 20" one, and a Macbook Pro and a Macbook.....cut to me hugging the 24" iMac like a maniac, giving evil eyes to whoever that approaches. From 3:30 to 4:00pm I was there spending some alone time with my iMac, oh, every application run so fast! the screen is gigantic, so bright so pretty! And even with all the extra locks and cables Bestbuy attached, it still look so uncluttered! It's such an elegant machine! I am so in love! Just that it appear in a store so near me could be a sign!! :p You know if I buy it I will break away from my gadget naming system and just take a page from Grey's Anatomy and called him MacDreamy!

Anyone who works nearby should know that particular 24" iMac in Bestbuy is mine until I get my own!

Music charts fixed

After some research I finally figure out why Last.fm ignore the listening data from my ipod - the problem lies with iTunes 7. I found a test version of iscrobbler that fixed the syncing ipod listening data problem with Last.fm. So now the charts will once again reflecting my listening habit correctly without omitting the data from ipod~~ chart-lovers rejoice!

Test version of iscrobbler 1.2.1 test 2 can be found here.

My 10 reasons to buy an iMac

1) I watch my TV shows and DVDs in my room most of the time anyway, so a big 24" screen would be ideal.
2) I convert videos and also burn dvds, a more powerful Core2Duo desktop will shorten the time to do these tasks.
3) With a bigger storage drive, the iMac will centralize my contents - less external hard drives.
4) Free up my Powerbook from all the wires and cables that connect it to the external devices, it will truly become a laptop with mobility.
5) I can play Civ 4. and other games. (and if i decided to use boot camp, I will be able to play the windows only games as well.)
6) built in iSight.
7) Front Row, Apple Remote, Bluetooth wireless keyboard and mighty mouse.
8) It's new.
9) It's big and it's awesome.
10) I want it so bad.

A Walk by the Abandon Waterfront

The whole weekend I was involuntarily playing this game called "Avoid All Humans." It's a very simple game, all you have to do is stay home and avoid any human contact as much as possible, see how long you can last until you get cabin fever and have to get out of your house even if you have no where to go.

Anyway, so I had to get out of my house, so I did. It was late afternoon, the sun was turning into this orange golden color setting to the west, so the abandon waterfront of Greenpoint and Williamsburg has one of the best scenery at that moment when you can see the sunset and the skyline of Manhattan at the same time. I passed by the ruins of that huge fire back in Spring......is it just me or it has some post-Apocalyptic beauty?

I continue my walk down to Williamsburg, I passed by the state park that is still a work in progress. They are growing a meadow, and some trees. The description from the sign sound interesting because the park would preserve some old shipping terminal tracks and stuff. Looking forward to see this park!

Walking down North 6, I noticed a couple new stores open up, first thing that caught my eyes is a new computer equipment store - Lots of apple stuff inside because it's another apple authorized reseller!! yay! Apple fans rejoice! Then I notice this weird wooden place that has no name, it wasn't there before, so I come back and did some research - confirm what I suspected - a new Japanese Restaurant!! it's called Zenkichi, it sounded quite nice, and you know I will drag one of you people here to try it out, don't say I didn't warn ya! Pedestrian countdown

From Gothamist comes the news of the first Pedestrian countdown timer here in NY. So instead of just "Walking Man" and the "Hand" signal, there will be a countdown number next to it, counting a minimum of 15 seconds. It sounds like a cool idea, but how many New Yorker actually looking at the sign when crossing in the city is a big question. But I think it's definitely useful in places like Queens Boulevard where you have to cross 15 lanes to the other side! It's nice to have a heads up to know how long until the light change on that dangerous crossing! It's too bad I will probably never travel to any of the pilot test sites except the one in the city - 6th Ave and W 8th Street, so if anyone pass by that area, keep a look out and see if this new signal is install yet!

Tale of Two Stations

New York Observer has this hilarious article about the difference between the rail passengers that arrive in Grand Central and in Penn Station. I was laughing so hard from the beginning when the article compared the Snobs from Connecticut and the Trashy NJ/LI commuters to the end when one commuter said his ass was never ever happy in Penn Station~ lol~ The best quote is this one:

“Grand Central has architecture and heft and scope and white marble and Kennedys backing the restoration. Penn Station has jerry-rigged plywood sheets with orange graffiti arrows,” the magazine editor from Westport continued. “In Grand Central, tourists gather in groups and point to the famous little spot on the ceiling they left intact—the one that shows how dirty the main waiting room was before the restoration. At Penn Station, people who point at the ceiling are remarking over how that pigeon managed to get in. Grand Central has a PBS feel about it. Penn Station is the WB.”

There are tons of comparsion that are just a delight to read, from Oyster Bar and Cipriani Dolci in Grand Central vs. TGI Friday and every other fast food option in miniature in Penn Station, to the music one can hear in the stations: Wagner and Beethoven in Grand Central, Psychedelic Furs or the Cure in Penn Station.

Let's see if the Moynihan Station will ever get build to tip the scale back.

Seven Phases of Owning an ipod

Found this hilarious post about the seven phases of owning an ipod, you should all head over there to see the original illustrated work~ it's awesome! lol. Here are the seven phrases:

PHASE 1: This is the "OH MY GOD IT'S SO SMALL AND SHINY" phase. You marvel at how small and shiny it is, stealing glances whenever you can.

PHASE 2: This is the phase where all your friends say "OH MY GOD IT'S SO SMALL AND SHINY" and you're like, totally over it.

PHASE 3: The iPod has become a permanent part of your body. If you're not showering or communicating with someone who has the authority to fire you, your ipod is blasting in your ears.

PHASE 4: You lose your impossibly small ipod somewhere in your home and nearly have a nervous breakdown. After eventually finding it you seriously consider ingesting it for safe-keeping.

PHASE 5: You suffer from permanent hearing damage. This does not deter you from constantly listening to your iPod at high volumes, however.

PHASE 6: A smaller, fancier ipod is created and yours is now outdated and crappy. Yours is no longer awesome, it is horribly awful. Just awful.

PHASE 7: You upgrade and buy the newer ipod. You are now destitute and are forced to live off cardboard and stray animals to survive.

Personally I only experienced 4 phases out of them. Want to guess? it's phase 1, 3, 6, and 7.

(Actually I am still very much in phase 1, 3 and 7 simultaneously! and I hope phase 6 don't come back any time soon!!)
